BIO: David
Flair never intended to be a professional wrestler, growing
up. He saw how his father Ric was on the road for most of
David's life growing up. However, once David graduated from
High School, he decided to move in with Ric Flair to attend school
in becoming Highway State Patrolman. Things changed in 1999
when David agreed to join WCW for an angle where David would join
the New World Order in the face of Ric Flair who was feuding with
the New World Order. An incentive to join the nWo was that of
Torrie Wilson, as this was Torrie's debut into pro wrestling and
first love interest, storyline wise.
David would continue feuding
with his father once Vince Russo came to WCW, as Russo has a sick
mind when it comes to meddling with family affairs. Russo even
wanted to do a storyline where he'd be revealed as David's real
father, even though David looks strikingly like Ric. Around
this time, David Flair fell in love with Stacy Keibler and
eventually moved in with her. Russo and WCW decided to play up
this real life relationship, even leading into a ridiculous wedding
angle and a false Keibler pregnancy. When WCW was purchased by
the WWE in early 2001, David Flair's contract was purchased and he
was immediately sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling for further training.
David Flair never got out of
OVW, however. His only real WWE airtime was during the 2002
angle between Ric Flair and the Undertaker where the Undertaker
tried to play mind games with Ric by attacking David Flair at the
OVW training facility. After Wrestlemania 18, the WWE's
profits started to drop off. Heavy cuts were made in the WWE's
farm system, as many former WCW wrestlers were let go. David
Flair was unfortunately let go. Flair has since wrestled for
NWA-TNA seeing more respect and more success than his brief farm
tenure in the WWE, even claiming the tag titles on one
occasion. David Flair tours various independent feds in
addition to wrestling for NWA-TNA.
